Globally, border crossings present lots of business opportunities, both legal and illegal. That is why national borders across the world have served as spaces of commercial activities, including commercial sex work. This study focuses on interrogating the activities of commercial sex workers along the Nigeria-Benin corridor, and the accompanying violence these sex workers experience in the hands of Johns and others who take advantage of their vulnerability. While most Nigerian scholars have studied the sex industry in Nigeria; taking into account the risks, vulnerability, politics, and opportunities, the interaction that sex workers have with the border spaces have not been adequately studied. Therefore, the study intends to fill this gap by exploring the activities of commercial sex workers in Seme on the border in Nigeria and Krake in Benin Republic. It is explorative research, consisting of interviews, observation and case studies.
