How to kill a good idea: reflections on CODESRIA's @45years experience of Panafrican knowledge production
Divine Fuh
CODESRIA, Dakar

What does it mean to publish Africa more than fifty years post-independence? Drawing from examples of CODESRIA's fourty five years of publishing, this paper asks how to uphold an emancipatory intellectual project in the context of professionalisation of knowledge production? It critically reflects on the tensions that arise out of performance-based managerialism in universities and the consequences for a publisher such as CODESRIA with a Panafrican political project.
