The study will aim at identifying and explaining the perfotmance of domestic tourism during off peak season in Uganda. A review of recent travel patterns by Ugandans will be studied to find out the trend of Ugandans who get involved in tourism activities for leisure purposes. This study will show whether really Ugandans engage and consume tourism products most especially in offpeak season. Preliminary studies (2017) show that Ugandan tourism is for the WHITES and that there are few local residents who engage and consume tourism products. The study will use a focus study approach with purposively selected tour operators, travel agents and Uganda Tourism Board officials to explore the performance of domestic tourism during offpeak season. A constant comparative method of data analysis will be used to analyse the data collected. Previous studies talk about the performance of tourism in Uganda and there is little or no studies that have been conducted on the performance of domestic tourism. There is alot of emphasis and focus on international tourism and how many dollars are collected from international tourists each year which places domestic tourism at stake. This study will find out how domestic tourism is performing during offpeak season and it will help tourism stakeholders to know what type of tourism products can be consumed by local residents. This study will further help to find out the chalenges facing domestic tourism in Uganda.In conclusion the study will come up with recommendations that will help the stakehoders to address the challenges that are affecting the performance of domestic tourism in Uganda.
