Does sense of agency serve as an action motivator?

Voluntary actions are accompanied by a sense of control over that action and its effects, and this perceived control, or sense of agency, serves as a precursor for the agent's perceived responsibility over the action outcome.
However, its conceptualization implies that sense of agency is more than an evaluation system for past actions and, instead, serves as a potentially powerful action motivator affecting future action decisions. In this talk, I want to look at theoretical considerations as well as scientific evidence that this may be indeed the case with sense of agency potentially affecting action selection and/or providing the motivation to act at all. Moreover, I want to showcase a more applied approach inspired by this assumption that asks how different levels of sense of agency may affect real-world challenges such as environment protection behaviour.
