Sexuality has physical, relational, and emotional components. Taking into consideration the limited number of studies about the emotional background of female sexuality, orgasm and especially orgasm faking, we focused on the analysis of categorial emotions associated with the sexual life in general and in specific picture evaluating situations. The aim of our research was to deepen the understanding of the emotions behind the complex course of faking orgasm during oral sex and sexual intercourse. To investigate these relationships women (N=200) completed our online survey including measures of faking orgasm (FOS) and the basic emotional level related to their sexuality in general. They were also asked to rate standardized images related to casual and erotic (oral and intercourse) events of heterosexual couples. Our results suggest that different categorial emotions can be matched with altering motives behind faking orgasm. However, faker and non-faker women’s feelings about their sexuality were not significantly different, but as soon as they were presented with erotic visual stimuli significant differences were found. Thus, as it was expected, the visual material helped them recalling feelings. Furthermore, subsequent analysis revealed that some motivations behind female orgasm faking during receiving oral sex mediated the associations between their feelings about their sexuality and evaluation of sexually arousing pictures. Using this new approach, our research contributes to a better and deeper understanding of the phenomenon of female faking orgasm and the results have implications for professionals helping people with sexual problems and women who are uncertain about their feelings and sexuality.
