Title: Inside-the-State Legibility: AI Simulation and the Black Box of Government Responsiveness in China

Tianguang Meng is the dean of school of social sciences and a professor of the Department of Political Science in Tsinghua University. His research interest includes urban governance, digital governance, political economy of Digital and AI technologies, and computational social science. He is the executive director of the Institute on Digital Government and Governance (IDG), and the deputy director of the Laboratory of Computational Social Science and State Governance at Tsinghua University. He has published several books on urban governance and digital governance. His articles have been published in journals such as Governance, World Development, Comparative Political Studies, Comparative Politics, Policy Study Journal, and China Quarterly.
