Title: SocioVerse 2.0 — A Longitudinal Dynamic Social Simulation Framework
Zhongyu Wei is a professor in the School of Data Science at Fudan University, Director of the Data Intelligence and Social Computing (Fudan DISC) Lab, and a full-time mentor at the Shanghai Innovation Institute. He earned his Ph.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong before joining the University of Texas at Dallas as a postdoctoral researcher. His research focuses on generative agents and social simulation. He has published over 100 papers, with more than 11,000 citations according to Google Scholar, and proposed the social world model SocioVerse and the social media simulator HiSim. He has served multiple times as a Senior Area Chair for leading natural language processing conferences, including ACL, EMNLP, and NAACL. His honors include recognition on the AI100 Young Pioneers list by MIT Technology Review China and DeepTech, and selection for the Youth Project of the Shanghai Eastern Talent Plan. He also leads a National First-Class Undergraduate Course recognized by China’s Ministry of Education.
