The Digital communication, User analytics and Innovative products (DIGICOM) project, which ran from 2016-2019, was a major joint collaborative undertaking (among nearly all members of the European Statistical System) to modernise dissemination and communication. While conceived prior to the recent surge in public attention to the ‘fake news’ phenomenon, DIGICOM presciently included the promotion of European statistics as a reliable basis for evidence-based decision-making. This paper details the rich and varied body of DIGICOM results, including: an enlarged European Statistical System product portfolio; statistical literacy products; various outreach activities; tools and prototypes; studies and inventories; strategies, guidelines and recommendations.
