Sudden declines in response rates may have particularly unfortunate consequences for the Labour Force Survey. In this paper, we explore nonresponse in the IS-LFS during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results show that the Covid-19 has not affected nonresponse in the IS-LFS in a clear way. Thus, Statistics Iceland has not implemented changes to IS-LFS data collection or data processing. Yet, the general downward trend in the IS-LFS response rate since 2011 warrants scrutiny. Thus, we stress the importance of research on the general reasons for the downward trend in response rates in social surveys.
