Juglans sigillata Dode ( Juglandaceae ) is a fast growing deciduous tree, which is grown native in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Guizhou provinces of China [1] . The plant extracts of Julans species are widely used as folk remedies to cure or prevent eczema, cancer, and rheumatic disease s [2] . F resh husks of some species in Juglans genus , officially listed in Compendium of Materia Medica as " Qing Long Yi" , have been medicinally used in Eastern Asian countries for thousands of years due to their antitumor, antiinflammatory , antioxidant, and antinociceptive effect s [3] . Previous phytochemical study of J. sigillata stem barks and fruit husks resulted in the purificati on of flavonoids, tannins, α-tetralones, diarylheptanoids, naphthalene glucosides , and their derivatives [4] . However, up to now , no investigation has ever been performed to investigate the secondary metabolite s in the sapwood of J. sigillata . I n th is work , we report ed the isolation and structural elucidation of a new cis - caffe oyl isoflavone glycoside , 3'-methoxy-5'-hydroxy-isoflavone-7-O-(4''- cis - caffe oyl)-β-D-glucoyranoside ( 1 ), and two known flavonol gl u cosides, quercetin -3-O -β-D-glucoyranoside (2) and kaempferol -3-O -β-D-glucoyranoside ( 3 ), from the sap wood of J. sigillata for the first time.
