This paper proposes an improved chopper buffer circuit designed for current source converter (CSC)-based doubly fed induction generators (DFIG), aiming to significantly enhance their low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability. The proposed circuit consists of a resistor-capacitor branch with controllable switches, connected in parallel to the DC link, which effectively suppresses overcurrent in the DC inductor and optimizes DC current dynamics. Simulation tests under varying DC inductance values are conducted to evaluate the LVRT performance of the CSC-based DFIG, verifying the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed chopper buffer solution.
