As fleet electrification accelerates, the need for reliable and cost-efficient charging infrastructure becomes increasingly crucial. Sharing corporate chargers with third parties creates strategic collaboration opportunities for fleet operators, charge point operators, and depot managers. It offers financial and ecological advantages by increasing the utilisation and efficiency of existing assets. However, shared use introduces operational challenges - such as coordinating with host depots, scheduling sessions, and resolving conflicts - which makes effective demand and capacity management essential.

The FAMOUS project enables companies to offer their charging infrastructure to authorised external users via an innovative digital platform. By intelligently matching charging demand with available capacity, the platform facilitates coordinated access through a smart booking system, unlocking previously unused potential. Additionally, it supports grid integration by providing local grid operator with estimated data on power consumption.

This contribution examines the technical and operational challenges of deploying a booking system that incorporates calendar-based reservation management. Using a multi-stakeholder approach, it critically evaluates the advantages and limitations of a centralised reservation architecture and identifies key development requirements for integrating reservation functionalities into existing EV infrastructure operations.
