This presentation explores the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary control systems, focusing on frequency response, coordinated frequency restoration, and asset dispatch optimization. We address the challenges of integrating these systems while maintaining stability and optimizing energy dispatch, particularly in island grids with high renewable energy penetration. Additionally, we discuss a unified operational approach combining power and energy management systems, and present case study results from real-world implementations.
