We study the effects of age at immigration on political participation. Using Swedish register data with information on voter turnout for the whole population and arrival year of immigrants, we compare the turnout among immigrants who arrived to Sweden as children with those who arrived as adults. We find that the age at immigration is negatively correlated with voter turnout and that this association diminishes over time.
