Title: “From Tools to Teammates: Agentic AI and the Future of Human–AI Collaboration in Education”
Abstract: The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence is reshaping education, not merely through technological innovation but through new forms of collaboration between humans and intelligent systems. This talk explores the emerging paradigm of Agentic AI in education as AI systems capable of planning, decision-making, adaptation, and goal-oriented action and its implications for learning, teaching, and institutional practice. Moving beyond AI as a passive tool, the talk frames Agentic AI as an active partner in co-creating educational experiences, supporting learners, and augmenting human agency rather than replacing it. Drawing on advances in large language models, reinforcement learning, autonomous agents, and multimodal systems, the presentation examines how agentic architectures can support learner-centred pedagogies, adaptive learning design, and inclusive educational environments. In conclusion, the talk suggests that Agentic AI can significantly enrich education if it is embedded in pedagogical, ethical, and cultural approaches that keep human values, creativity, and connection at the heart of learning.
