The increasing adoption of blended, hybrid, and online learning formats has intensified the need for coherent, engaging, and well-aligned course design in higher education. Although research-based instructional design frameworks such as Constructive Alignment and the ICAP model are well established, many educators face challenges in translating these principles into effective practice.

This innovation demo lab presents the myScripting Educational Design Toolkit, an integrated ecosystem that supports educators in designing evidence-based digital learning environments. At its core is a web-based visual design tool that enables instructors to structure courses using a timeline-based, drag-and-drop interface. The tool embeds instructional design principles directly into the planning process and provides real-time analytics on alignment, cognitive activation, and workload distribution, enabling iterative improvement before implementation.

The toolkit is complemented by additional resources, including video tutorials, a practice-oriented open-access book, and a MOOC, supporting both conceptual understanding and practical application. It builds on the FLEX research programme, which demonstrated that blended learning with reduced classroom time can achieve learning outcomes equivalent to traditional instruction when supported by strong educational design.

By integrating research, technology, and professional development resources, myScripting provides a scalable approach to bridging the gap between instructional design theory and practice.
