As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly reshapes the higher education landscape, universities are challenged to adopt approaches that support academic excellence while safeguarding integrity and trust. This proposal introduces an emerging collaboration between a UK and Irish university focused on embedding AI strategically and ethically across governance structures, quality assurance frameworks, curriculum design, and staff development. Both institutions recognise the opportunities and challenges generative AI presents, and importance of embedding AI considerations into programme design, assessment practice, staff development, and academic integrity.
This session will share our early-stage thinking, mutual learning, and foundations we are building to support models for AI‑enabled education that are agile, ethical, and pedagogically transformative.
