What do we want to address?
The risk management function has two key objectives: increase the business’ protection and ensure that risk informed decisions are taken by the management. To achieve these objectives, the risk managers should be able to collect the right information and put it into perspective.
The key challenge when performing risk assessment workshops is to ensure that all attendees are contributing their full potential – 100% of what they know.
We would like to share our experience of conducting risk assessment workshops and how we broke the rules of traditional risk workshops at Bayer (Life science company) within the Benelux region by using the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY approach.

Why LEGO SERIOUS PLAY approach?
We propose to go through the approach with the audience and share our experience of the 4 essential steps: Posing the question, Construction, Sharing and Reflection.
Does it work?
We will explain how this approach is used in the risk assessment workshop context. It allows the identification of root causes, likelihood, consequence and impact, some surprising outcomes will be shared with the audience.
Our objective during this presentation is to use the lego bricks with the audience, so they will be able to understand the value of this innovative approach.
Learning objectives/takeaways
By sharing our experience, we want to show that we can innovate and develop risk practices to create engagement from the stakeholders in risk management activities.
It will also emphasize the importance of the soft skills in the risk management roles to be perceived as a business enabler, a risk coach.
