The Risk and Crisis Research Centre (RCR) based at Mid Sweden University encompasses researchers from several different fields, and fosters collaboration across higher education, government, industry, emergency services and the general public. Recently work was completed on a unique simulation lab with immersion technology, set to become a hub for RCR and its many stakeholders. The lab features seamless 360° video projection with surround sound, lighting, smoke, and olfactory effects, as well as sonic vibrations, infrared heating, and cooling.
RCR Lab – Sandpit session
Join us in this ideation and knowledge sharing session as we explore the possibilities and challenges in using simulations and experimental design in risk and crisis research. For this session we encourage a multidisciplinary mix of participants to drive lateral thinking and identify radical approaches that can strengthen research and innovation in our field. A variety of outcomes from the session are envisaged, ranging from joint research proposals, feasibility studies, joint publications, networking activities, overseas visits and so on. Outcomes are not pre-determined, but will be defined during the sandpit.
