Risk and uncertainty play a role in decision making from individual to societal levels. Risk is complex and it requires both expertise and experience to fully comprehend, evaluate and communicate. Centres of excellence in risk may be an important actor by providing support on risk issues in relation in Society, Business and Academia. The Swedish Society for Risk (Riskkollegiet) and the Nordic Chapter of Society for Risk analysis invite to a round table discussion on the value of a national centre for excellence in risk. This symposium discusses the need for expertise and advice on risk cutting across society and problems together with the experiences from centres of excellence in other countries and topics.
Format: Short talks on 5-10 minutes + moderated round table discusion by invited speakers representing existing centres of risk excellence, goverment whom can benefit from a centre, consultant companies, the Swedish Society for Risk and the Nordic Chapter of SRA
