Continuous integration and sharing code in Official Statistics: an example with the ‘lissyrtools’ package
Josep Espasa Reig, (Email)

Sharing code has become a frequent practice in Social Sciences and Official Statistics. Because of the non-software engineering backgrounds of most professionals in Official Statistics, practices such as Continuous Integration (CI) and Test Driven Development (TDD) are still not commonly applied. The paper gives the reader an introduction to these concepts and a basic guide on how social scientists can implement them when sharing R code. The ‘lissyrtools’ R package is used to illustrate these practices.
