The present study investigates the association between COVID-19 vaccination readiness and cooperative- and economic preferences. We conducted a large-scale online survey with a representative sample comprising 3.045 German adults in April 2021, a time when the vast majority of the population was still unvaccinated. Cooperative preferences were measured in an incentivized prisoner's dilemma game while we elicited altruism, trust, risk- and time preferences using validated survey questions. The study finds that more cooperative, patient, and trusting individuals state a stronger intention to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
