Chronic photodamage and its repair: What evidence is there that topical anti-ageing cosmetics remodel skin?
Keynote Lecture
Presented by: Rachel Watson
As a community we are increasingly aware of the damage chronic sun exposure (ultraviolet radiation; UVR) inflicts on to the skin. In this lecture, I will summarise the cutaneous consequences of chronic UVR exposure prior to examining the impact of topical therapies, including the gold standard clinical treatment, all-trans retinoic acid. Finally, I will review the research evidence for repair provided by over-the-counter anti-ageing products.
