An ethno botanical survey of plants used in the traditional treatment of gynecological problems in females in different villages in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, south eastern part of Nigeria was conducted through a structured questionnaire. Traditional medical practitioners, civil servants, herbalists, herb sellers, farmers and the aged were interviewed. A total of 98 respondents were interviewed. Results showed that 30 plant species belonging to 27 families were said to be useful in gynecological problems. The most frequently used plants are Carica papaya, Anthocleista vogelli, Aspilia africana and Citrus aurantifolia. Leaves (50.00%) and roots (23.33%) are the leading parts used. Decoctions and infusions are the most popular modes of preparation while oral and, to a lesser extent, topical are the most common administration routes.
